We stayed in the “Ski lodge” for 2 nights and everything about it was fantastic. It is such a lovely peaceful location on the farm but only a short walk from Helmsley centre. The lodges themself are brilliant, really well thought out and have every amenity you could need and are extremely cosy. Laura was great and communication was excellent. We will 100% return. Thank you for a brilliant break.

What an absolute gem of a place ! The cottages are in the secure grounds of the stud and so beautifully quiet. Our cottage (Cecil) had a huge secure garden the kids could run around in, a lovely seating area, and stunning views out over Ryedale. The cottage was clean and smart and warm. Proper blinds and curtains on the windows meant the bedrooms could be kept dark for the children in the short summer night. The kitchen had everything we needed, a good sized fridge freezer and washing machine. We had my daughter’s birthday there and the team were so lovely she had an amazing time. We will be going back.

Last minute getaway to this fantastic place. Beautiful, peaceful setting with everything you need for a relaxing, stress free stay. Laura was brilliant, answering any question we had to make sure we had the best experience. The lodge (Hunters) was perfect. Very modern with everything you need. Beautiful, quiet and comfortable. Absolutely amazing nights sleep. Well rested and relaxed. This is my second visit to Cliff Stud Retreat I've stayed in one of the cottages which was lovely and a lodge which was fantastic too. Nothing too much trouble for the Estates manager and a very pleasant village to walk around. Great places to eat and drink there's also a fabulous walk around 6 miles or so to Reivoux Abbey if you enjoy a bit of exercise. Can't recommend Cliff Stud Retreat enough for it's pleasant atmosphere, comfort, peaceful surroundings and location ❤️

Surprise birthday getaway - we hired the whole complex. Fabulous location, pods were AMAZING! Beautifully presented cottages and dog friendly! Hosts were great and helped with local knowledge - ahead of the weekend and on hand as you needed them. Would definitely recommend. We’ll be back!

It's a lovely place to relax. Staying away from the city hustle and no noise to distract (except the nature). The welcome basket with fresh egg, cookies, tea and a bottle of non-alcoholic drink was just perfect! We spent a serene 3 day break there. Will definitely come back! Kudos to the owners for maintaining such a perfect holiday lodge in a beautiful farm! Please note that the lodges are not pet-friendly and kids are not allowed. There is a place for bbq as well. The owners were really helpful and has a dog named 'Ghost'. The dog does not come in the lodge area.

My husband and I have just returned from a stay at this charming holiday rental cottage in Helmsley, Yorkshire. Set within walking distance of the centre of Helmsley, it offered the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience. We were able to explore the quaint streets, visit local shops and cafes, and walk the trails of the surrounding countryside—all right at our doorstep. The cottage itself has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, which made it a joy to come back to after a day out. Beautifully decorated, with a cosy fireplace and well-equipped kitchen, it had everything we needed. Laura, the host made sure that we felt comfortable going to her for any query or concern that we had, but everything was so perfect, we didn't need to! In summary, our stay at this holiday rental cottage in Helmsley was an absolute delight. It provided the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and charm, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to explore the beauty of Yorkshire. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and would definitely stay there again ourselves.

You will not be disappointed. Just got back from a lovely weekend. The lodges are beautifully decorated, clean and set in a quiet, relaxing location. Staff are friendly. There are plenty of walks and things to explore in the nearby village. Will definitely be back again soon.

Stunning luxury accommodation and setting. So peaceful but just a short walk away from all the bars and restaurants in the town. The pods are set in a secluded area with fantastic facilities so even if you decide not to eat out you can cook or even have a bbq. The bed was so comfy. Lovely addition of a well stocked bar to enjoy after a long walk which went down very well. Had a lovely stay wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Helmsley now we have found it.
