Popped in with our two dogs for a bite to eat. We were delighted with the vegetable lasagne special and delicious selection of homemade cakes. Lovely staff and great atmosphere with roaring fire.

Lovely setting. We were clearly forgotten about by the waiter as another server needed to remind him to take our order. Both ordered the Full English, came with one slice of white and one slice of granary toast. Was disappointed we weren't given a choice, but thought maybe thats how they do it. Then heard another waitress ask the table next to us "would you like white or brown." So clearly an option, but not one offered to us.

Wow! Such great breakfast! There are breakfasts and there are breakfasts.. but here they actualy cared to make the eggs on toast perfect. Enjoy!

Lovely spacious cafe with a warm fire, perfect on a wet day like today! Had the soup and a mocha and can recommend both. We will be back!

Popped in for a vegan breakfast as it the only place open for breakfast on a Saturday morning before 10am! Although there’s nothing really obviously vegan on the menu, they will adapt the food for far a plat-based preference. Tea and porridge (without the honey) for breakfast. Tea was good (loose tea) and the offered a refill of water several times. Porridge came in a oversized mug/bowl and was fresh. The compote berries lifted it. Sat at the window on a high seat with power and a view across the marketplace. Nice staff and nice place for a working breakfast.

Great little cafe, enjoyed my breakfast and the shop is a great added touch will be back here for breakfast.

Good choice of good quality food. Not everything available all the time: I ordered one meal and one drink and neither were in stock (having said that it was a busy weekend). The cafe itself is good looking and clean and the staff are helpful and hard working. There is a gift shop upstairs and ice cream to take away downstairs. Definitely worth a try.

Proper bacon and sausage sandwich! Delicious coffee to go with - will definitely be back!

Nice place for breakfast or tea and cake. Lovely staff. It's a bit bright, (a little sterile even) and not as homely as it could be. Would definitely come back for the food and service.

Called in yesterday in the hope of some plant based options for one of our group of four and The Cafe on the Square were very accomodating! My eldest had vegan cheest on toast with a few extras to make it more substantial (chutney / salad etc) Each of us ordered different things and our meals really hit the spot!... Unusually for us, we then went onto order a dessert each (eldest had vegan cheesecake) Great place, great staff, will make a beeline for The Cafe on the Square next time we're in town! :)
